前言 perface


每个艺术家都是幸福的,除了现实世界和精神世界,他们还有一个完全属于自己的艺术世界;但他们又是痛苦的,不得不去面对现实、精神、艺术三个复杂的世界,这也就决定了艺术家要无比的敏感于个体的行为和所处的环境,不断的思考和构建自己的艺术世界。
中国当下的艺术,在我看来有两种主流,一种是官方的主流,一种是民间的主流,很显然本次展览的三位艺术家刘陈、张东贤、邓上东不属于两种主流的任何一种,但并不影响他们未来会是“成功”的艺术家,因为面对现实世界他们总是像无私的“劳模”一样构筑着自己的艺术世界。
那么,本次展览三位无私的“劳模”又构筑了一个怎么的艺术世界呢?在我看来“我爱你”包含着三个层面的“爱”:完美的爱、错位的爱、虚无的爱。
你会如何去表达对爱人的爱?艺术家刘陈无疑是一个爱的表达高手,他通过一个最质朴的方式——现实世界中双手的劳动表达了对女友的爱。艺术家将荒地里废弃的砖头洗净、上色、绑绳、搬运、悬挂,最终在离家不远的高架桥上悬挂出了“我爱你”的形状,并在七夕节以求婚仪式呈现给了女友。现实的肉体磨难,20多天的“隐蔽劳动”,最终艺术家求婚成功,也完成了他的作品。在刘陈的《我爱你》中,艺术家将精神世界对女友的爱外化为现实世界体能和时间的消耗,然后以作品的形态完成了艺术世界对爱的升华,在现实、精神、艺术三重世界里构建起了一个完美的爱。
艺术家张东贤的《礼物》呈现了一个错位的亲情之爱,因“父爱无言”而错位的主体与客体,只能以“物”的无言来表达主体的爱,艺术家张东贤的父亲用名烟、名酒、“面子”构成的“礼物”表达着对艺术家张东贤的爱,而艺术家将名烟、名酒、父亲的邮帽转化成“物化”的雕塑表达着对父亲的爱,虽“爱”错位,但都是最真挚、最炙热的亲情之爱。当然,在这份错位的亲情之爱背后,艺术家还有着更深层的批判之意需要我们去解读。
对于艺术家邓上东而言,无论是今年宝丽来的作品、还是19年拍摄的《香水》系列以及一直以来所创作的行为艺术作品,都试图通过对身体的表达来探索个人情感和生命的意义。当我们陷入对个体和生命的思考,虚无也随之而来。邓上东通过对肉体的伤害、性的表达、欲望的描绘、亚文化的关注,以求达到个体从自我、存在、欲望中解放。其对现实世界和精神世界的虚无态度,在艺术世界中呈现出了一个虚无的爱。
作为观众我们是幸运的,我们无需经历现实世界的劳动,精神世界的思考、艺术世界的构筑,仍然可以透过作品观看艺术家的世界。

Every artist is happy, in addition to the real world and spiritual world, they also have an art world that is completely their own; but they are also suffering and have to face the three complex worlds of reality, spirit, and art. It also determines that artists must be extremely sensitive to individual behavior and the environment in which they are located, constantly thinking about and constructing their own artistic world.
In my opinion, there are two kinds of mainstream art in China, one is the official mainstream, the other is the folk mainstream. Obviously, the three artists Liu Chen, Zhang Dongxian and Deng Shangdong in this exhibition do not belong to any of the two mainstreams, but it does not affect that they will become "successful" artists in the future,because facing the real world, they always build their own art world like selfless "model workers".
So, what kind of artistic world has the three selfless "model workers" constructed in this exhibition? In my opinion, "I love you" includes three levels of "love": perfect love, misplaced love and nihilistic love.
How would you express your love for your lover? Liu Chen, an artist, is undoubtedly a master of love. He expresses his love for his girlfriend through the most simple way, the labor of his hands in the real world. The artist washed, colored, tied ropes, carried and hung the abandoned bricks in the wasteland, and finally hung the shape of "I love you" on the viaduct not far from home, and presented it to his girlfriend with a marriage proposal ceremony on the Chinese Valentine's day. After more than 20 days of "hidden labor", the artist successfully proposed and completed his works. In Liu Chen's “I love you”, the artist externalizes the love for his girlfriend in the spiritual world into the consumption of physical strength and time in the real world, and then completes the sublimation of love in the art world in the form of works, and a perfect love is constructed in the triple world of reality,spirit and art.
Artist Zhang Dongxian's “Gift” presents a misplaced love of family. The subject and object that are misplaced due to the "father's love without words" can only express the subject's love in the silent "thing". Zhang Dongxian's father expresses his love for artist Zhang Dongxian with the "gift" composed of famous cigarettes, famous wine and "face", and the artist transforms famous cigarettes, famous wine and father's mail hat into The "materialized" sculptures expressing the love for his father. Although the "love" is misplaced, there are the most sincere and ardent love of family. Of course, behind this misplaced love, the artist has a deeper critical meaning that we need to interpret.
For artist Deng Shangdong, no matter the work of Polaroid this year,the “Perfume” series shot in 2019 or the performance art works that he has created before, all of them are trying to explore the meaning of personal emotion and life through the expression of the body. When we fall into the thinking about individual and life, nothingness follows. Deng Shangdong seeks to liberate individuals from self, existence, and desire through physical injury, sexual expression, depiction of desire, and the attention to subculture.   His attitude towards the nihility of the real world and the spiritual world presents an nihility love in the art world.
As an audience, we are lucky that we can still see the artist's world through his works without experiencing the labor of the real world, thinking about the spiritual world and constructing the art world.
